Hair care compatible with your scalp

Because a healthy scalp is the key to healthy hair, we create scalp-friendly solutions first. Our mission is to start a movement where care can perform without the usual side effects: irritation, dryness, dandruff... Highly concentrated care that works in harmony with the scalp and hair, not against them.

Normal hair does not exist, healthy hair does.

We don’t talk about beauty standards or conventions, we talk exclusively about hair health. In our approach to designing scalp solutions, we take a radically inclusive approach: it’s based first and foremost on science. Our mission is to put science and innovation at the center of our products, to create specific and accessible hair care, designed to suit all hair textures.

The unique formulation charter at MÖSS

Hair is an extension of the scalp, but especially of the skin. Thus, our promise is to strictly use ingredients that respect the scalp and hair. Our only compass is the effectiveness of our scientifically proven active ingredients and safety. Each ingredient used plays a benefit for your scalp, or is essential to the integrity of our formulas. What we put in our products is important, but what we exclude is also important. We have excluded several types of ingredients that do not contribute to the integrity and good health of the scalp and hair in the long term. These ingredients that we ban are called: The 4 undesirables.

The 4 Undesirables

Our philosophy is to ban The 4 Undesirables®, four families of ingredients likely to cause:

- Imbalance of the flora of the scalp and hair

-Irritations and allergies

-Harmful to the environment

-Endocrine disruptors or suspected substances.

Eliminating these harmful or controversial substances reduces adverse effects on the skin, in addition to being beneficial for the overall health of the hair.

At Möss, we apply the precautionary principle, as soon as a substance is suspected to be harmful to health or the environment, we remove it. It's zero doubt!

Scalp pH

When the pH of the scalp is unbalanced, the skin barrier becomes more vulnerable, leading to dryness, itching and increased sensitivity. This is why our products are formulated to respect this natural pH. Thanks to our natural Derma-Probios® complex (Lactobacillus ferments, PHA, etc.), we preserve the balance of the hair microbiome while preserving our products. By protecting the acid mantle of the scalp, we help maintain its balance and prevent imbalances. This allows us to avoid certain increasingly controversial preservatives.

Hair microbiota: the Möss difference

Our scalp, like the rest of our body, is home to a complex ecosystem of microorganisms, called the hair microbiome, which are essential to its balance and health. When this balance is disrupted by internal or external factors, it can lead to problems such as dandruff, irritation or other hair disorders. This phenomenon, called scalp dysbiosis, makes the scalp more fragile and more sensitive to external aggressions.

A key factor in maintaining this balance is the pH of the scalp. pH measures the acidity of a substance, and the scalp's pH is naturally slightly acidic, around 5. This pH plays a crucial role in protecting the scalp from aggressive agents, helping to eliminate dead cells and creating an optimal environment for the hair flora to thrive.
